New footage reportedly shows China’s J-36 sixth-generation fighter conducting another daylight test flight, as the large tailless, three-engine aircraft continues its flight-testing program.
The aircraft, which is believed to be around 22 meters long and weigh more than 50 tonnes, has appeared in several different configurations as additional prototypes emerge. A J-36 structural mock-up was displayed in China on September 15, while an AVIC presentation in Beijing also showed a fighter laser-weapon tracking and aiming system alongside imagery resembling the J-36.
